May, June, September and October give you sea warm enough to swim without the peak-summer heat or prices. July and August are the busiest and most expensive months; November to March is mild, quiet and the cheapest time to stay.
Yes. Malta charges an eco-contribution of €0.50 per adult per night, capped at €5 per stay, collected by the property on arrival. Where a hotel also charges a resort or city fee, we list it on the room before you pay.
Sliema, St Julian's and Valletta are all walkable and well served by bus and ferry, so you do not need a car. Mellieha, Gozo and the quieter villages are easier with one.
